EXHIBITION    PHASES

June

The first phase of the three-month exhibition period commences, which is the collaborative experience of physically building the

Cultural Wall or 'Meraka' (place of gathering). Starting with the collective collection of tyres and waste, the structure of the wall is created. Earth is rammed into the tyres to solidify the structure, which is serpentine in form.

Meraka Cultural Village with Sekoele Holistic Living Arts Centre are collaborators  in the shared building experience.

The snails will live in a 4-meter holding space, where they will co-create by eating into high-end Fabriano art paper.

These paper artworks will become an evolving art installation within the gallery space throughout the exhibition period.
